WHAT MAKES OUR REVISION COURSES THE BEST

  • Experienced IB teachers who specialise in revision (93% are IB subject examiners).
  • Small classes of no more than 10 students.
  • 14 hours of teaching per subject per 2-day course.
  • Choose from up to 10 subjects.
  • Teachers prepare classes around the specific needs of the class.
  • Includes subject-specific exam prep resources.
  • Total immersion in one subject at a time.
  • Set and reviewed homework for private study outside class.

EXPERIENCED IB TEACHERS

You will be taught by an experienced IB teacher who is up-to-date with teaching and examining their subject. They will be familiar with the latest syllabus changes, the types of exam questions the IB are currently asking, and the latest expectations of the examiners.

IB REVISION SPECIALISTS

Your IB teachers are revision specialists, having developed effective and flexible approaches and materials over years of revision experience. They can confidently lead a group of students with different needs and grade expectations to improve their outcomes.

MEETING INDIVIDUAL NEEDS

Class content will be based on student questionnaires, and then adapted as questions arise during the class. Your teacher will have taught students across a range of abilities, and will understand what students find challenging. Additionally, the daily timetable is designed to support intensive study.

OSC APPROACH TO TEACHING

  • You will be asked to complete an online questionnaire for each of your selected subjects. This allows you to tell the teacher which areas of the syllabus you particularly need to review and which options you would like to cover.
  • Our teachers will take you through the syllabus and work with you on the key points you need to know.
  • They will help you with your academic problems, answer all your questions and help you perfect your exam technique.
  • Priority will be given to the core syllabus – options will be covered as time allows.
  • Your teachers will set tests, exercises, and exam questions to complete outside class. This enables you to consolidate the syllabus content and exam skills you have learned so far, and to prepare for the next day's classes when your teachers will review your work with you.

BIOLOGY HL

Biology – the stuff of life. It’s a fascinating subject, but there are so many concepts to remember! OSC’s Biology HL Revision Course helps you manage the course content and gain a secure understanding of the syllabus.

This class covers topics in the Core and AHL (Additional Higher Level) parts of the syllabus and builds your confidence through rigorous preparation for Papers 1 and 2. You may choose to study DNA replication, photosynthesis, or something else – we let the class decide which topics to focus on. You will also be guided through Section A of Paper 3, on practical work, such as measuring the rate of transpiration from a potometer. To ensure that your time is used efficiently, Section B is not covered, as students will have studied for different options. If you need help with your option, we recommend getting the OSC Revision Guides.

All OSC classes are tailored to the needs of the group and provide a wealth of exam practice and advice on exam techniques.

ECONOMICS HL

Economics – a fascinating subject about the world around us; it studies the behaviour of consumers, firms, and governments in response to a world of unlimited wants and scarce resources. OSC’s Economics HL Revision Course helps you to review key topics, apply them to examination questions, and demonstrate your understanding to the examiners.

You will review topics from all parts of the syllabus – microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, and development economics – and prepare thoroughly for all three exam papers. You will learn appropriate strategies for tackling the papers. Whether it is an extended response question on interest rates and inflation in Paper 1, a data response question on exchange rates and the current account in Paper 2, or a question on calculating changing consumer surplus in Paper 3, the group decides together what to review.
