CLASS CONTENT

BIOLOGY HL

Biology – the stuff of life. It’s a fascinating subject, but there are so many concepts to remember! OSC’s Biology HL Revision Course helps you manage the course content and gain a secure understanding of the syllabus.

This class covers topics in the Core and AHL (Additional Higher Level) parts of the syllabus and builds your confidence through rigorous preparation for Papers 1 and 2. You may choose to study DNA replication, photosynthesis, or something else – we let the class decide which topics to focus on. You will also be guided through Section A of Paper 3, on practical work, such as measuring the rate of transpiration from a potometer. To ensure that your time is used efficiently, Section B is not covered, as students will have studied for different options. If you need help with your option, we recommend getting the OSC Revision Guides.

All OSC classes are tailored to the needs of the group and provide a wealth of exam practice and advice on exam techniques.

ECONOMICS HL

This class will review a variety of topics from all parts of the syllabus (Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International economics and Development economics) and focus on appropriate strategies for tackling the three exam papers.

ECONOMICS SL

This class will review a variety of topics from all parts of the syllabus (Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International economics and Development economics) and focus on appropriate strategies for tackling the two exam papers.

MATHEMATICS SL

Love it or loathe it, maths is a vital skill for the IB Diploma Programme. OSC’s Maths SL Revision Course strengthens your understanding of the course content and helps you apply that knowledge in an exam context.

This class covers all syllabus topics and reviews core concepts that are tested every year. Exam practice includes short and long answer questions, with and without a calculator, so that you feel equally comfortable with Papers 1 and 2. You may choose to review normal distribution, logarithms, calculus, or trigonometric functions – we let the group decide which areas to focus on. Just remember to bring your formula book and a fully charged graphics display calculator. It doesn’t matter which sort you have – TI84, nSpire, Casio or anything in between – our teachers will be able to help.

All OSC classes are tailored to the needs of the group and provide a wealth of exam practice and advice on exam techniques.

PHYSICS HL

This class will review topics in the Core and Additional Higher Level parts of the syllabus and thoroughly prepare students for Papers 1 & 2. You will also be helped with Section A of Paper 3 (on practical skills). However, these classes will not cover the option that you have studied. Students attending this course should bring a copy of the Data Booklet with them (your school will give you this), including an IBO approved graphic calculator.

PHYSICS SL

This class will review topics in the Core of the syllabus and thoroughly prepare students for Papers 1 & 2. The skills required for successful completion of Section A of Paper 3 will also be addressed – but not the content of the different options. Students attending this course should bring a copy of the Data Booklet with them (your school will give you this), including an IBO approved graphic calculator.

However, OSC is an independent company separate from the School. OSC contracts with the Schoolfor the use of facilities, but has no formal connection with Berlin International School.
