Since 1993, many thousands of students have chosen to spend their summer in the inspiring grounds of St Antony's College, Oxford. Our students benefit from an academic programme that brings them up to the level required for the IBDP and that improves their chances of fulfilling their potential. The programme also offers a range of exciting social and cultural experiences. Participants leave feeling fully prepared for the year ahead, with a long list of new friends, and fun memories of a summer well spent. In 2019 we are introducing our newest course, Discovery Week, as the opportunity for our students to come together from around the world to help them explore and understand their personal goals and aspirations.

KEY FACTS

APPROACHES TO TEACHING

Our teachers demystify the IB. Through subject-specific study, you learn the terminology, structure, and expected standard of their chosen subject. Interactive classes and seminars introduce you to the ‘DP Core’ - the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, Creativity Activity and Service.

Across the week, you are introduced to the skills and fundamental concepts that will underpin your next two years of study.  You will then move up to more complex topics based on the needs of each class. Understanding is nurtured and assessed through classroom discussion, activities, and practice.

Small class sizes allow teachers to provide individual attention, answering questions and reviewing material as required. Teachers prepare personalised reports which provide recommendations on how you can progress further.

STUDENT LIFE

A summer spent with OSC will be full of fun, inspiring experiences, adventures in a centre of culture and academia, and friendships formed with students from all over the world.

You will love experiencing campus life and exploring the city through a range of activities, including cultural attractions and sports,.

Our Welfare and Social Activity Team is available 24 hours a day to handle any issues that arise and to help you get the most out of your summer.

There’s also a unique opportunity for you to explore how the IB can support your future goals by attending the OSC University Fair.

When your parents drop you off at St Antony’s College, they are welcome to meet our Director over a cup of English tea and a slice of cake on the college lawn. This is an opportunity for them to learn how you will benefit from your time with us and allow them to chat with other parents in the traditional setting and congenial atmosphere of an Oxford college.

Tea will be served at 16:00 each Sunday and will last approximately one hour.

Your parents can also join us for the Welcome Dinner in college from 19:00 to 20:00, which costs £20.00 per person.

The Welcome Dinner can be added by contacting us directly once the application has been confirmed.
