Who will you be?
Our continuously changing global environment has never offered more opportunities while also creating challenges for you and your generation. OSC Discovery Week is an exciting new summer event bringing you together with students from around the world to explore and understand your personal goals and aspirations.
|WHO||Young people aged 15–17 interested in exploring their future options|
|WHEN||14 July 2019 - 20 July 2019|
|WHERE||St Antony's College, Oxford|
|HOW MUCH||£1,800 per week
Within the prestigious setting of Oxford, you will have the opportunity over the course of the week to:
gain new perspectives from our diverse and inspiring speakers, who will discuss their personal journeys, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them to achieve their goals;
explore and give insight to your own strengths and aspirations to help guide you as you consider your future options;
enjoy the unique Oxford experience – dine in a traditional Oxford college, tour the Student Union, and discover the cultural and historic opportunities of this world-leading city of learning.
A typical day will combine group sessions introducing big topics with team activities to look more closely at these themes. You can choose from a range of interesting classes covering fascinating subjects and useful skills, for example:
explore opportunities in the changing world of future careers;
understand your brilliant brain and how to help it work, rest and play;
release your creative side in a hands-on arts or performance workshop;
perfect your presentations and develop your debating skills;
delve into practical politics and what matters to you;
get advice on applying to a UK university.
As the week progresses, you will reflect on each session and work on a personal project to help shape the ‘future you’.
In addition, you’ll have free time to join in sports and activities, go shopping for famous brands at Bicester Village, take in the latest blockbuster at one of Oxford’s many cinemas, or simply relax in the nearby University Parks.
On the morning of the first day all students follow the same schedule, with a welcome session, introduction to the core themes of the programme and some time to set up your personal project. Over the rest of the week you will attend your selected sessions. All sessions will be led by experts in their field.
