Social Activities

The standard Mid IBDP Programme takes place Monday-Friday mornings. In the afternoons each week you can choose from a variety of afternoon programmes, or from our range of dean-led activities, excursions and social events.

Weekend Trips

Codzilla Boat Trip

Codzilla is no ordinary boat, you will have monstrous fun as the boat ride takes you out onto the water with great speeds of up to 40mph. Riders might get slightly wet if they sit in the splash zone! This unique cruise is notorious for the thrill of hairpin turns and 360-degree spins thrown in!

After an exhilarating cruise you will head to the historic Quincy Market with all the shopping and street entertainment it has to offer. You will have lunch in the bustling Fanueil Hall where you can try the local delights of clam chowder or lobster roll or maybe try some of Masschutsetts favourite dessert - Boston Cream Pie.

Six Flags Theme Park

If you like theme parks you will LOVE Six Flags – the thrill capital of New England, boasting 20 white knuckle rides including Batman The Dark KnightTM, Skyscreamer, and CyborgTM Hyper Drive (new for 2019). The water lovers amongst you can spend the day at Hurricane Harbor with its lagoon and wave pool - there are rides too like the Typhoon Water Coaster, Bonzai Pipelines and Cannonball Falls.

Dean-led Evening Activities

Our Course Deans arrange activities in the evenings. Activities include trips to the cinema, picnics and barbecues, dinner in Boston, karaoke, and quiz nights. There are also plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities such as casual games of football and frisbee in the park. Sports in previous years have included football, swimming, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and yoga. Or make the most of MIT's outstanding sports facilities, such as the Olympic-size swimming pool.

The activities were awesome and so varied. The Deans were cool and really good at getting everyone together. Within a few days we were all friends and now I don't want to leave them!
