Social Activities

The standard Mid IBDP Programme takes place Monday-Friday mornings. In the afternoons each week you can choose from a variety of afternoon programmes, or from our range of dean-led activities, excursions and social events.

Weekend Trips

Codzilla Boat Trip and History & Pizza Tour

Codzilla is no ordinary boat, you will have monstrous fun as the boat ride takes you out onto the water with great speeds of up to 40mph. Riders might get slightly wet if they sit in the splash zone! This unique cruise is notorious for the thrill of hairpin turns and 360-degree spins thrown in!

After an exhilarating cruise you will be met by a tour guide who will show you some of the fascinating and thought-provoking historic sights. Delve into some of Boston’s rich history, visit five sites on the Freedom Trail, and, of course – eat all the pizza, from some of the best pizzerias in Boston’s ‘Little Italy.’

Six Flags Theme Park

Take a trip to Six Flags – the thrill capital of New England, boasting ten white knuckle rides including Superman and The Ride of Steel, while for water lovers there’s also Hurricane Harbor with its wave pool and the Typhoon Water Coaster.

Dean-led Evening Activities

Our Course Deans arrange activities in the evenings. Activities include trips to the cinema, picnics and barbecues, dinner in Boston, karaoke and quiz nights. There are also plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities: casual games of football and frisbee in the park. Sports in previous years have included football, swimming, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and yoga. Or make the most of MIT's outstanding sports facilities, such as the Olympic-size swimming pool.

The activities were awesome and so varied. The Deans were cool and really good at getting everyone together. Within a few days we were all friends and now I don't want to leave them!
