COURSE FEATURES

EXPERIENCED IB TEACHERS

You will be taught by an experienced IB teacher who is up-to-date with teaching and examining their subject. They will be familiar with the latest syllabus changes, the types of exam questions the IB are currently asking, and the latest expectations of the examiners.

IB REVISION SPECIALISTS

Your IB teacher will be a revision specialist, having developed effective and flexible approaches and materials over years of revision experience. They can confidently lead a group of students with different needs and grade expectations to improve their outcomes.

MEETING INDIVIDUAL NEEDS

Class content will be based on student questionnaires, and then adapted as questions arise during the class. Your teacher will have taught students across a range of abilities, and will understand what students find challenging. Additionally, the daily timetable is designed to support intensive study.

CLASSES AVAILABLE

BIOLOGY HL

In this class, you will review topics in the Core and Additional Higher Level parts of the syllabus and prepare thoroughly for Papers 1 & 2. You will also be helped with Section A of Paper 3 (on practical skills). However, the class will not cover the option in Paper 3.

BIOLOGY SL

In this class you will review topics in the Core part of the syllabus, prepare thoroughly for Papers 1 & 2, and review the practical work that underpin Section A in Paper 3. The class will not cover the option in Paper 3, although specific questions can be addressed.

CHEMISTRY HL

This class will review topics in the Core and Additional Higher Level parts of the syllabus and thoroughly prepare students for Papers 1 & 2. You will also be helped with Section A of Paper 3 (on practical skills). However, these classes will not cover the option that you have studied. Students attending this course should bring a copy of the Data Booklet with them (your school will give you this).

CHEMISTRY SL

This class will review topics in the Core part of the syllabus and prepare students thoroughly for Papers 1 & 2. ECONOMICS HL

This class will review a variety of topics from all parts of the syllabus (Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International economics and Development economics) and focus on appropriate strategies for tackling the three exam papers.

MATHEMATICAL STUDIES SL

In this class we will review the seven topics of the syllabus, incorporating exam practice on both papers – the short-response questions of Paper 1 and the extended-response questions of Paper 2. Students should bring a copy of the Formula Booklet for Mathematical Studies and their GDC.

MATHEMATICS HL

The aim of the course is to review a large proportion of the core syllabus with emphasis on those topics that have been requested by members of the class. The review will include plenty of practice on both calculator and non-calculator questions, from papers 1 and 2 respectively. Students should bring both their formula book and their GDC to the course.

MATHEMATICS SL

In this class we will review the six topics of the syllabus, incorporating exam practice on both papers – Paper 1 (where a calculator cannot be used) and Paper 2 (needing a calculator). Students should bring a copy of the Formula Booklet for Mathematics SL and their GDC.

PHYSICS HL

This class will review topics in the Core and Additional Higher Level parts of the syllabus and thoroughly prepare students for Papers 1 & 2. You will also be helped with Section A of Paper 3 (on practical skills). However, these classes will not cover the option that you have studied. Students attending this course should bring a copy of the Data Booklet with them (your school will give you this), including an IBO approved graphic calculator.

IMPORTANT VISA INFORMATION

If you do need a visa to enter the UK, you should complete the relevant visitor visa application form according to Embassy advice – more information is available on the UK Border Agency website.

We are happy to provide a letter in support of your visa application – however, prior to us providing such a letter, your total course fees must be paid in full. Please contact us if you require a letter in support of your visa application.

Please note that many Embassies take a long time to process a visa application – it is best to contact them as soon as possible to find out about the procedures and make your application.

If a visa is refused we will refund the full fees minus a handling charge of £75, provided that the visa application was made at least 1 month prior to the start of the whole course. Proof of application date and refusal is required before fees are refunded – please see our Cancellation Policy.

Please note: not having received a response from the visa authority does not qualify the Student or Parent for a refund.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

It is essential that you have comprehensive travel insurance to cover loss of possessions and medical expenses as for any trip away from home – it is also highly advisable to include cancellation cover with your insurance.

WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?
  • We accept applications right up to the start of the courses, but classes do fill up quickly and we may run out of space if you leave it too late. But always ask – we may be able to make space.
  • The deposit or full course fees must accompany your application – we cannot reserve places until the deposit is received.
  • We will respond to online applications by email within 24 hours to confirm that your application has been received by us. Then, within 2 working days we will email you again to confirm your place or discuss your course. If you don't receive our email please contact us.

WHEN DO I PAY?
  • If you apply before 2nd February 2018, only the deposit is due with your application. The deposit makes up part of your total fees.
  • The balance is due by 2nd February 2018. This means that for applications made before this date, the remaining fees must be paid by 2nd February 2018 and for applications made after 2nd February, the full fees must be paid at the time you apply.
  • We will continue to take applications right up until the courses start, but only if we have space - please be aware that these courses are popular and spaces fill up very quickly. You should contact us as early as possible in order to secure your preferred dates and subjects.

Please be assured that if we are unable to place you in the appropriate course we will refund the payment in full. Please also note that whenever you apply, you will still receive a full refund if you cancel within 14 days, in line with our Cancellation Policy.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?
  • There is a cancellation period of fourteen days after your course has been confirmed in which you can cancel for a complete refund.
  • If you cancel before 2nd February 2018 but after the cancellation period, fees will be refunded minus a handling charge of £75.
  • After 2nd February 2018 we can only refund deposits or fees if you cancel within the cancellation period.
  • We advise you to take out cancellation insurance to cover you in case you are unable to attend your course.
