Following the success of our IB Revision Course at Kings College London in 2018, we are now absolutely delighted to be able to offer three separate events in London:
Biology – the stuff of life. It’s a fascinating subject, but there are so many concepts to remember! OSC’s Biology HL Revision Course helps you manage the course content and gain a secure understanding of the syllabus.
This class covers topics in the Core and AHL (Additional Higher Level) parts of the syllabus and builds your confidence through rigorous preparation for Papers 1 and 2. You may choose to study DNA replication, photosynthesis, or something else – we let the class decide which topics to focus on. You will also be guided through Section A of Paper 3, on practical work, such as measuring the rate of transpiration from a potometer. To ensure that your time is used efficiently, Section B is not covered, as students will have studied for different options. If you need help with your option, we recommend getting the OSC Revision Guides.
All OSC classes are tailored to the needs of the group and provide a wealth of exam practice and advice on exam techniques.

You will review all five units of the syllabus, including the six key concepts that underpin the course, and prepare thoroughly for both the case study in Paper 1 and the structured questions in Paper 2. Whether you need help with linking the key concepts to the case study, applying ratio analysis, or something else – we let the class decide which areas to focus on.
For courses after February, please remember to bring your copy of the Case Study (your school will provide this)!

Economics – a fascinating subject about the world around us; it studies the behaviour of consumers, firms, and governments in response to a world of unlimited wants and scarce resources. OSC’s Economics HL Revision Course helps you to review key topics, apply them to examination questions, and demonstrate your understanding to the examiners.
You will review topics from all parts of the syllabus – microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, and development economics – and prepare thoroughly for all three exam papers. You will learn appropriate strategies for tackling the papers. Whether it is an extended response question on interest rates and inflation in Paper 1, a data response question on exchange rates and the current account in Paper 2, or a question on calculating changing consumer surplus in Paper 3, the group decides together what to review.

English Language & Literature – you’ll never get bored; there’s so much to learn and read! OSC’s English A: Language & Literature HL/SL Revision Course is a chance for you to engage closely with the syllabus, cover everything that you need to know, and get all your last-minute questions answered.
Our experienced teachers will provide you with the tools with which to approach both Paper 1 and Paper 2 successfully and will offer clear advice on what the examiners are looking for. For Paper 1 (Comparative textual analysis), you will focus on how to structure an essay around the analysis of two unseen texts. For Paper 2 (Essay), you will focus on essay preparation on the literature studied in Part 3 of the syllabus: you will be given guidance on how to use contextual knowledge of your texts to answer the questions, how to form thesis statements, and how to use these thesis statements to structure your essay. You may choose to review formal, stylistic, and aesthetic qualities of texts, or develop your powers of expression, or something else – we let the group decide which areas to focus on. Just remember to bring a laptop and your texts!
Please note: this class is specifically for students studying English A: Language & Literature. If your school just refers to it as ‘English A’, please check with your teacher whether you are doing English A: Literature, or English A: Language & Literature. We offer separate classes for English A: Literature. (English A: Language & Literature has a syllabus including ‘Language in cultural context’, ‘Language and mass communication’, and ‘Literature’.)
ENGLISH A: LITERATURE HL/SL
English Literature – texts that introduce us to different cultural perspectives on human existence, that encourage us to reflect on what has happened to us as individuals and to the world as a whole. OSC’s English A: Literature (HL/SL) Revision Course helps you to review syllabus content, consolidate your understanding of different genre conventions, and develop key skills in critical analysis and written communication.
This class will guide you through the course structure and will thoroughly prepare you for Papers 1 and 2. You will engage in close, detailed analysis of selected literary texts, and develop an understanding of the techniques used in literary criticism. Our experienced teachers make clear what the examiners are looking for, and show you how to achieve this through interpretation of the criteria, analysis of good samples, and essential tips. Most importantly, you will practise the relevant skills, using past papers, to ensure you can meet the criteria at a good level. Whether you need help with literary analysis, literary devices, genre terminology, effective revision techniques, persuasive essay writing, or something else – we let the group decide which areas to focus on. Just remember to bring a laptop and your texts!

Whether you enjoy the elegance and power of mathematics or are struggling with the basic principles, maths is a vital skill for the IB Diploma Programme. OSC’s Maths HL Revision Course will help you understand the key skills required by each of the topics, and then guide you on using these skills through work on past examination questions.
This class will review a large proportion of the Core syllabus: this could be integration techniques and applications, the intersection of lines and planes, or something else – we let the group decide which areas to focus on. Exam practice includes short and long answer questions, with and without a calculator, so that you feel equally comfortable with Papers 1 and 2. The course will review the knowledge needed for success in the earlier parts of the paper, and give you the techniques and confidence required when tackling the unfamiliar questions at the end of the papers. It will advise you on how to make the best use of your 5-minute reading time and will go through the most common errors that students are subject to. To ensure that your time is used efficiently, the Options are not covered, as students will have studied different options. If you need help with your option, we recommend getting the OSC Revision Guides. Don’t forget to bring your GDC and your formula book!
All OSC classes are tailored to the needs of the group and provide a wealth of exam practice and advice on exam techniques. Because many students come to our courses, we can often place students in classes with other students of comparable ability in the subject.

We recommend that all students take advice from the British Embassy in their country on whether a visa is required to enter the UK.
If you do need a visa to enter the UK, you should complete the relevant visitor visa application form according to embassy advice – more information is available on the UK Visas and Immigration website.
We are happy to provide a letter in support of your visa application – however, prior to us providing such a letter, your total course fees must be paid in full. Please contact us if you require a letter in support of your visa application.

If a visa is refused we will refund the full fees minus a handling charge of £75, provided that the visa application was made at least 1 month prior to the start of the whole course. Proof of application date and refusal is required before fees are refunded – please see our Cancellation Policy.
Please note: not having received a decision from the visa authority does not qualify the Student or Parent for a refund.

- parental consent to travel alone.
- We always take health conditions and physical disabilities into consideration and we are happy to assist in any way we can.

- We will respond to online applications by email within 24 hours to confirm that we have received them. Then, within 2 working days we will email you again to confirm your place or discuss your application. If you don't receive our email please contact us.
Please contact the OSC Team if you have any questions.
- The Final Payment Date for London 1 is 7th December 2018. For London 2 & 3 it is 8th February 2019.
